Apply for the 2016 AZA’s Conservation Grants Fund of $18,175!

Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) is currently accepting applications for its AZA Conservation Grants Fund (CGF) 2016. CGF supports the cooperative conservation-related scientific and educational initiatives of AZA, AZA- accredited zoos and aquariums, and their collaborators.

CGF encourages submissions from smaller institutions as the average rate of award success is equal amongst small and large institutions.

Program Categories

CGF grants are awarded in six categories:

Animal Health
Animal Welfare
Conservation Education
Field Conservation and/or Reintroduction
Management and/or Breeding
Funding Information

The average project award is approximately $18,175.
All CGF projects must be completed within 12 months.


Each Principal Investigator (PI) identified on the application must have an independent AZA Membership (including those employed by an AZA-accredited institution) are eligible to apply.
The roles and qualifications of all collaborators should be described in detail and their CVs.
Many grants have been awarded to collaborations among AZA-accredited institutions; state, federal and international wildlife agencies; academia; and major conservation NGOs.
